| Jason Ellison Former Everett Merchant Jason played for the Merchants in the summer of 1997 where he played outfield and pitched. Jason attended Lewis &Clark State and led his team to two NAIA World Series championships. Jason signed professionally with the San Francisco Giants. He made the jump from single A to triple AAA in the summer of 2002. After splitting time at Triple AAA and with the Giants in 2003 & 2004 Jason was called up and now is playing regularly in the big leagues. As of May 14th He was hitting .392 with 2 HR & 5 SB. Jason Ellison is the Pacific International League Major League graduate of the year for 2005. Spent majority of year at triple-A Fresno, but also made his Major League debut with Giants...appeared in 7 games for SF (2 starts), going 1-for-10 with run scored...was recalled from triple-A Fresno prior to May 9 game in Atlanta, taking roster spot of disabled OF Marvin Benard...made ML debut that evening, entering in 9th inning as defensive replacement in LF and making 1 putout...made 1st career start May 11 at Turner Field, going 1-for-5 (with 1st hit coming on 6th inning 1B off Trey Hodges)...was optioned to Fresno May 18, where he remained rest of campaign...led Grizzlies with 21 stolen bases, while ranking 2nd in games (119) and runs (74)...hit .295 with 22 2Bs, 4 3Bs, 6 HRs and 39 RBI...earned Fresno Player of Month award for April...was honored by teammates as "Harry Jordan" award winner during Spring Training, honor bestowed upon best 1st year player in big league camp...hit .362 (17-for-47) during spring with 6 2Bs, 2 3Bs, 0 HRs, 5 RBI, 2 stolen bases and 8 runs scored in 25 games. Personal: Graduated from South Kitsap (WA) High School...earned All-State honors senior year, while being named league MVP junior and senior years...attended Bellevue (WA) Community College and earned All-League honors...attended Lewis & Clark (Lewiston, ID) State College...played on 2 NAIA national championship squads in 1999 and 2000 for Warriors...was named MVP of 1999 NAIA World Series...married (Raelena Dal Santo, Feb. 10, 2001). |
